How a Sentinel audit works
Four steps. One complimentary Initial Audit. No credit card.
1Request access
Two-minute signup with your work email. Andrew approves new accounts within one business day. You're notified by email when your account is live.
2Sign your MSA + BAA
Two click-through documents inside the portal: the Master Services Agreement covers the engagement; the Business Associate Agreement satisfies HIPAA before any PHI moves. You can review both fully before signing; the typed-name + checkbox signature is captured with your timestamp and IP.
3Upload encounters
Drag-and-drop up to 20 charts per physician: native PDF, DOCX, RTF, C-CDA XML, FHIR JSON, HL7 v2, or Epic EHI TSV. Scans, photos and image-only PDFs are refused at upload — they have no text layer to read. Files are encrypted in your practice's keychain-isolated lockbox the moment they hit our disk.
Two things about the export itself. The code you billed has to be inside each encounter file — we compare the billed code against what the documentation supports, so an encounter without its code has nothing to compare against. And on which encounters to send: for the complimentary Initial Audit, pick a week and send its encounters consecutively; once you're on a paid or PRI engagement, you send the encounter listing first and we select the sample from it.
4Review your report
Andrew runs the audit and an RN reviews every finding before delivery. The report lands in your portal — never as an email attachment — with each finding and the medical decision-making detail behind it, ranked corrective actions, and two separate per-encounter subtotals: capture on the under-coded encounters, and repayment exposure on the over-coded ones. The two are never combined into a single number, and encounters where no figure could be quantified are counted rather than left out. It stays available for 90 days, then is automatically purged.
